Our story
The Story Behind Discover Unique
Over the years, I have attended countless EHCP meetings and worked closely with children, young people, adults, families, carers and professionals across the SEND, neurodivergent and additional needs community.
One thing became increasingly clear.
Many families simply didn't know what support was available.
Not because support didn't exist.
But because it was often difficult to find.
Time and time again, I met parents and carers searching for answers, opportunities and services without knowing where to look.
I found myself asking the same question again and again.
If so many incredible services, organisations and professionals exist, why are families still struggling to find them?
And if these providers are making such a difference every day, why are they not receiving the visibility and recognition they deserve?
The more I reflected on this, the more I realised the challenge wasn't a lack of support.
The challenge was helping people discover it.
At the same time, I saw incredible providers working tirelessly to change lives every day.
Many of them were making a huge difference but were not always visible to the people who needed them most.
That never felt right.
Families needed better visibility of the support available to them.
Providers deserved better visibility for the difference they were making.
I believed there had to be a better way.
Discover Unique was born from that belief.
A belief that people should be able to discover support more easily.
A belief that trusted providers deserve recognition.
And a belief that the right support, discovered at the right time, can change lives.
