Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions help maintain a trusted, safe and transparent platform for everyone. They explain how Discover Unique can be used, what we ask of everyone who uses it, and the honest limits of what Discover Unique can do. We have written them in plain English so that families, carers, adults with SEND, young people, professionals, providers and visitors can all understand them.
Connecting People. Supporting Futures.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Discover Unique. These Terms & Conditions set out how everyone can use our platform — whether you are looking for support, offering support, or simply visiting to find information.
Discover Unique is a discovery and connection platform. We help people find support, services, opportunities and community connections across the SEND, neurodivergent and additional needs community. We are here to connect people and support futures — and these terms exist to keep that experience safe, fair and transparent for everyone.
By using Discover Unique, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the platform. We want these terms to be easy to understand, so we have avoided unnecessary legal jargon wherever possible.
2. About Discover Unique
Discover Unique is a UK platform that helps people discover SEND, neurodiversity and additional needs support, services, opportunities and community connections. We bring together people looking for support and the providers, groups and organisations offering it.
Discover Unique helps people find support, but we do not deliver support services ourselves. The providers and organisations listed on the platform are independent. They are responsible for the services they offer, and any decision to use a service is made directly between you and the provider.
Our goal is to make it easier for families, carers, adults with SEND, young people and professionals to discover support that genuinely fits their needs — and to give providers a transparent way to reach the people who may benefit from what they offer.
3. Using The Platform
Discover Unique is designed to be used by a wide community. You can browse listings, search for support, read resources, and contact providers directly using the contact details they choose to share.
Some features — such as leaving reviews or saving searches — may require an account. Where an account is needed, we will make that clear. You can use much of the platform without registering.
Provider information is supplied by providers and may change over time. We make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information, but we cannot guarantee that every detail remains current at all times. If you notice something that looks out of date or incorrect, please let us know.
4. Accounts And Registration
Where you create an account on Discover Unique, you are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for any activity that takes place under your account. Please choose a strong password and do not share it with others.
When you register, you agree to provide accurate, honest information about yourself. You must be old enough to create an account under UK law. If you are registering on behalf of an organisation, you must be authorised to do so.
Providers who list on Discover Unique also agree to our Provider Terms, which set out expectations around accuracy, safeguarding, insurance and professional conduct. Provider listings are reviewed before they appear on the platform.
We may suspend or close an account where it is being misused, where false information has been provided, or where allowing continued access would put users or the platform at risk.
5. Searching And Provider Information
Our search and filter tools are designed to help you find support by need rather than by professional category. You can search by support need, support type, location and Verified™ status.
Provider listings show information supplied by the provider — including service descriptions, support needs, locations, contact details and pricing where shared. This information is the provider's responsibility. We display it to help you make informed decisions, but we do not verify every detail of every listing.
We encourage you to ask questions, check details directly with providers, and carry out any additional checks you feel are important before choosing support. Discover Unique is a starting point for discovery — not a guarantee that any particular service will meet your needs.
6. Discover Unique Verified™
Discover Unique Verified™ is a trust framework. It confirms that specified checks — such as DBS certificates, insurance or safeguarding policies — were completed at the time of review. It helps providers show that relevant checks have been carried out, and it helps families feel more confident when exploring support.
Discover Unique Verified™ is a trust framework and not a guarantee, endorsement or recommendation. It reflects checks completed at a specific point in time — not a permanent statement about a provider. It does not promise that a service will meet every family's needs, and it does not rank one provider above another.
Full details of how Verified™ works, what it covers and what it does not cover are set out in our Discover Unique Verified™ Terms.
7. User Responsibilities
We ask everyone who uses Discover Unique to do so honestly, respectfully and safely. When using the platform, you agree that you will not:
- Misuse the platform or attempt to interfere with its operation.
- Upload harmful, offensive, misleading or unlawful content.
- Impersonate another person, provider or organisation.
- Provide false or inaccurate information when registering or contacting providers.
- Use the platform to harass, harm or exploit others.
- Attempt to access data, accounts or systems you are not authorised to access.
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
Families, carers and individuals remain responsible for their own decisions about support. Discover Unique helps you discover options — but the choice of provider, and any agreement to use a service, is yours.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on Discover Unique — including text, branding, logos, graphics, design, layout and platform materials — remains the intellectual property of Discover Unique unless otherwise stated. You may view, download and print content for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute or otherwise use Discover Unique's branding, logos or platform materials without our written permission. Provider logos and images remain the property of the providers who supplied them and are displayed on the platform with their consent.
If you believe that content on Discover Unique infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us and we will look into it promptly.
9. Third-Party Services And Links
Discover Unique may include links to external websites, apps and services. These are provided to help you find useful information and support. We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
When you follow a link to an external site or use a third-party service, you do so at your own risk. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy practices of any third-party service before using it.
Some listings may reference apps, tools or digital services. These are independent of Discover Unique. Any use of a third-party service is a relationship between you and that service — not between you and Discover Unique.
10. Suspension Or Restriction Of Access
Discover Unique may suspend or restrict access to the platform, or to individual accounts and listings, where necessary to protect users or platform integrity. This may happen where:
- A user has misused the platform or breached these terms.
- A listing is found to be misleading, inaccurate or harmful.
- A provider no longer meets safeguarding, legal or professional requirements.
- There is a safeguarding concern or a risk to users.
- Continued access would put the platform or its users at risk.
We will try to act fairly and, where appropriate, give a user or provider a reasonable opportunity to respond before access is restricted. In urgent or safeguarding situations, we may act first to protect users.
Suspension or restriction of access does not necessarily mean a provider's listing is permanently removed, and we may reinstate access where concerns are resolved.
11. Liability And Disclaimer
Discover Unique is a discovery and connection platform. We help people find support, but we do not deliver support services ourselves and we are not responsible for the delivery, quality or outcome of services provided by third parties.
Discover Unique is not responsible for contracts, agreements or disputes between users and providers. Any agreement to use a service is made directly between you and the provider, and any issue with a service should be raised with the provider in the first instance.
Provider information is supplied by providers and may change over time. We make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information, but we cannot guarantee that all information remains current. You should always use your own judgement and carry out any additional checks you feel are important.
To the extent permitted by law, Discover Unique excludes liability for any loss, damage or harm arising from reliance on information on the platform or from the use of a service listed on the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
12. Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time — for example to reflect changes in how the platform works, legal requirements, or feedback from our community.
When we make meaningful changes, we will make the updated terms available on this page and let you know where appropriate. Continuing to use Discover Unique after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, you can contact us or stop using the platform.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes relating to these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
