What you’ll need to get started

Nothing here is designed to catch you out. Have a quick read, gather what you need, and registration becomes straightforward.

Step one

Your listing details

This is the part people see. Plain, honest descriptions work best — families are looking for someone who understands, not marketing language.

  • Your business or service name, exactly as you want it shown.
  • A short description of what you offer and who you support.
  • The support needs you work with (autism, ADHD, speech and language, and so on).
  • Age groups you support, and whether you work in person, online or both.
  • The areas you cover, plus your base town or postcode.
  • How you'd like people to contact you — you choose what is shown publicly.
  • Your pricing approach (hourly, per session, on enquiry — whatever fits).
Step two

Documents you’ll need

You can register first and upload these later from your dashboard. They are stored privately, seen only by our review team, and never appear on your public listing.

Proof of identity

Photo ID such as a passport or driving licence, to confirm you are who you say you are.

Never shown publicly.

DBS certificate

An Enhanced DBS where you work directly with children or adults at risk.

Required for most direct support roles.

Insurance

Public liability and, where relevant, professional indemnity insurance covering the work you offer.

Required for Verified™ Professional. Optional for Personal Assistants — many are covered by the family or employer who engages them.

Professional registration or qualifications

HCPC, RCSLT, BACP, teaching or other registration and qualification evidence, where it applies to your service.

Only where relevant to your work.

Standards

Verified™ requirements

Discover Unique Verified™ means a real person has checked real evidence. Every provider meets the same standards — and Community Partners are held to them too.

  • Identity confirmed.
  • References are optional for Verified™ PA and shown as additional evidence when supplied.
  • A signed safeguarding declaration (Verified™ PA).
  • DBS, insurance, training and qualifications where they apply — optional for Personal Assistants, and shown on your profile when supplied.
  • Professional registration, insurance and DBS confirmed for Verified™ Professional.
  • Reconfirmed once a year, so the badge always means something current.

Personal Assistants and independent carers: many Direct Payment PAs are covered by their employer’s insurance and do not hold a policy of their own. Not having personal insurance does not stop you applying. Verified™ PA requires photo ID, a signed safeguarding declaration, acceptance of terms and a human review. References, insurance, DBS, first aid, training and qualifications are optional — you can tell us your cover sits with your employer, upload your own policy if you have one, or leave it, and your profile shows honestly what has and has not been provided.
