The network

Join the Discover Unique Community Network

Community Partner is not a paid directory listing and it is not a verification product. It is a community membership: a way for charities, CICs, parent carer forums, community organisations, support networks and community groups to be recognised as part of a growing network committed to positive outcomes for the SEND community.

  • Stand alongside other organisations supporting the Discover Unique mission: helping people discover support, knowledge, communities and opportunities.
  • Help families, carers, adults and professionals discover the support that already exists around them.
  • Strengthen local and national SEND communities by making community organisations easier to find.
  • Community Partner membership is £24.99 per year — annual membership only.
  • Community Partner is a community and partnership programme aligned to our Communities pillar. It is not a Verified™ tier and carries no verification claim.
Why it matters

Why Community Partners Matter

Most families do not begin their search with a professional directory. They begin with a local group, a charity helpline or another parent who has been there before.

  • Community organisations reach the people who are least likely to find formal services on their own.
  • Grassroots groups often provide the first honest answer to "What's out there?"
  • Recognition matters — the people doing the most valuable work are often the least visible.
  • Working together improves the visibility of community organisations across the whole country.
  • Partners help us keep the platform accurate, local and genuinely useful.

Limited places

Founding Community Partner Programme

Founding Community Partner status recognises organisations that help shape Discover Unique during its early development. It cannot be bought and is offered at the discretion of Discover Unique.

This programme exists to recognise a small number of organisations that contribute to the platform's growth, feedback and development.

Founding Partners receive

  • A Founding Community Partner badge
  • Permanent public recognition on the Founding Partners page
  • A Community Partner profile and enhanced visibility in search
  • An opportunity to contribute feedback and shape the platform early
  • Founding Community Partners may also be featured as part of the Discover Unique launch and growth story
  • Future case study opportunities, with your approval

In exchange, we ask for

  • Honest feedback on the platform and the search experience
  • Participation in occasional short conversations or testing
  • Willingness to be featured in a future case study, if you're happy to be

Who qualifies

  • Places are intentionally limited, so we can support each partner properly.
  • Selection is based on alignment with the Discover Unique mission and a willingness to support platform development.
  • Status cannot be bought and is offered at the discretion of Discover Unique.
  • Not all organisations will qualify, and the programme may close once places are filled.

Verification standards remain the same for everyone. All organisations must meet the same requirements, including relevant identity, safeguarding, insurance and verification checks. No organisation automatically receives Verified™ status. Recognition is permanent; any reduced or waived verification fee is temporary and linked to our launch period — see how verification works, or meet our Founding Community Partners.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost anything?
Community Partner membership is £24.99 per year. It is an annual membership only — there is no monthly option. Founding Community Partner recognition is separate: it cannot be purchased, is limited, and is offered at the discretion of Discover Unique. Any fee waiver or discount is temporary and managed separately.
Is Community Partner the same as Verified™?
No. Community Partner is a community and partnership programme aligned to the Communities pillar, and carries a Community Partner badge only. It involves no verification checks and makes no verification claim. Discover Unique Verified™ is a separate trust framework with its own checks, evidence and badge, available from £19.99 per year.
Do we still need checks?
Verification standards are unchanged. If your organisation also wants the Discover Unique Verified™ badge, you complete the same identity, safeguarding and insurance checks as everyone else and are re-verified annually. No organisation automatically receives Verified™ status.
Who can apply?
Registered charities, CICs, parent carer forums, community organisations, support networks and community groups supporting the SEND community across the UK.
How many Founding Partners will there be?
A small, limited number. Places are intentionally restricted so that Founding Partner status stays meaningful many years from now. If the programme is full when you apply we'll keep your details and come back to you.
What happens after we express interest?
We'll get in touch to talk it through, confirm the details we need, and guide you through creating your listing.
Can we leave later?
Yes. You can update or withdraw your listing at any time, and we'll remove your recognition from the partner page on request.
