Verified™ PA pathway
Personal Assistants and independent carers
Personal Assistants are often employed directly by a family or through direct payments, so insurance, DBS certificates and professional memberships often sit with the employer rather than the worker. Many Direct Payment PAs are covered by their employer’s insurance, and not holding a personal policy does not stop you applying. Verified™ PA confirms identity, safeguarding commitment and a human review. Additional evidence may also be displayed on the public profile, so families see exactly what has been supplied.
Always required
- Photo ID — Photo ID and appropriate identity checks completed with Discover Unique.
- Safeguarding declaration — A signed declaration confirming an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, agreement to notify us of relevant changes, and suitability to work with vulnerable people.
- Acceptance of terms — Agreement to the Discover Unique Verified™ Terms and Provider Terms.
- Human review — A member of the Discover Unique team reviews your application before any badge is shown.

Verified™ PA members reconfirm their safeguarding declaration every year, update their evidence where appropriate, and refresh expired documents if supplied.
