Grapevine Essex is a registered charity founded in 2012 that provides fully supported recreational and educational activities for adults with learning disabilities living in Essex. Anyone aged 18 or over with a learning disability can apply for membership. Members are invited to a year-round programme of affordable outings and events during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays, with pickups for days out in Chelmsford. The charity also runs two weekly term-time evening groups in Chelmsford: Club Grapevine, a social club with activities such as discos, karaoke, drama, art and music, and a Dance Group. Activities aim to build confidence, friendships and life skills, and offer respite for parents and carers.
